VEEP REQUEST ICOF TO REDUCE USER FEE TO K450 PER SEMESTER

Republican Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has requested International Coalition of Fellowships – ICOF- Colleges, Seminaries and Universities to reduce the burden of user fees. Mrs. NALUMANGO has disclosed that she has received reports of financial challenges faced by students and parents regarding the user fees for the 14-days residential school. She is requesting ICOF College of Bishops to consider reducing the fees to make it more affordable for students.

The Republican Vice has assured that Government, on its part, Government will also reduce the fees charged by schools and colleges for using their premises for 14 days Residential classes. She says the Zambian Government requests ICOF College of Bishops to reduce the user fees from K900 to K450 in order to allow more vulnerable but viable youths to be in School, To this effect I wish to direct that the Ministry of Sport Youth and Arts call for a meeting and ensure that the following ministries attend, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Mrs. NALUMANGO has stressed that the New Dawn Administration wants students to pay an amount that allows them to study and appreciate the GRZ-ICOF program. She was speaking in a speech read on her behalf by Ministry of Education Director of Teacher Education, Ngosa Kotati, at the ICOF 69th ordination and induction ceremony held in Lusaka on 30th August 2023.

And Mrs. NALUMANGO has assured that the New Dawn Administration recognizes the Church as valuable partner in national development. She says President Hichilema has been engaging with the Church leaders as key stakeholders and that this is the reason why Government signed an MoU with ICOF aimed at providing free tertiary Education to Zambian Youths.

Meanwhile the Republican Vice President has lamented that that it has been brought to her attention that there are some pastors in the Country that charge for prayers. She says the work of the newly ordained ICOF Bishops, Reverend Chaplains, Pastors, Apostles, and Prophetesses, should benefit all of humanity and that financial barriers should NOT hinder anyone from seeking spiritual guidance.

Mrs. NALUMANGO is urging newly ordained ICOF gospel ministers to be parents of all and extend their care and support to everyone in need regardless of their financial status. She has urged them to change the practice where pastors charge for prayers and appointments, adding that their calling and service is meant to benefit mankind and to give hope to the hopeless.
